PDF → Excel
Extract tables from any PDF, or use smart bank statement mode for HDFC, ICICI, Axis, Kotak, IDFC, and more.
How to Convert PDF Tables to Excel Online — No Upload Required
LovelyPDF's PDF to Excel tool has two modes. For general PDFs it uses a column-clustering algorithm to detect and extract tables. For bank statements it switches automatically to a smart bank parser that understands the column layout of HDFC, ICICI, Axis, Kotak, IDFC FIRST, Federal, Union, and Karnataka Bank statements.
Bank Statement Mode
When the filename contains a recognised bank name (e.g. "HDFC_Statement_Apr24.pdf"), the tool automatically switches to bank statement mode. It extracts Date, Description, Debit, and Credit columns and adds a Summary sheet with totals and date range. The output Excel is clean and compatible with Tally import, expense trackers, and accounting software.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work on scanned PDFs?
No. Both modes need selectable text. For scanned statements, download the Excel version directly from your bank's net banking portal.
Which banks are supported in bank statement mode?
HDFC, ICICI, Axis, Kotak Mahindra, IDFC FIRST, Federal Bank, Union Bank of India, and Karnataka Bank. Detection is based on the filename — make sure the bank name is in the filename when saving from net banking.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. PDF.js reads your file locally and the .xlsx is generated client-side using SheetJS. Your PDF never leaves your device.
